https://dexters-web.de/ now also has an IPv6 address.
An IPv6-capable client usually uses this automatically and with priority. You can check whether this is the case using the following test page:
https://dexters-web.de/test-ipv6
Note: the OVMS API address "ovms.dexters-web.de" remains purely IPv4 as before, because the module does not yet support IPv6 (and this is not yet foreseeable).
Generally, because it will replace the IPv4 protocol in the long term.
Specifically now, because IPv4 addresses are already in short supply and more and more providers are using a procedure in which all provider customers share a limited set of IPv4 addresses (CGNAT).
In this case, unfortunately, all customers of a provider are also affected by IP blocks to protect against attacks; Websites are then temporarily inaccessible from the entire provider network.
IPv6 solves the problem of this "collective punishment" because it means that enough addresses are available again so that every PC has its own address again.
